Look up not around!

It seems like every negative thing, every piece of bad news just chips away at hope and we grow weary trying to be positive and remain hopeful. It is a battle to remain hopeful especially when we don?t see God working and we begin to wonder if He is even hearing our prayers.

Philippians 4:8 says that we are to meditate on pure things and things of good report. What do you think about most often? Second Corinthians 10:5 says that we are to take every thought captive.

How often do you hear bad news and then proceed to dwell on it? Today I decided to actually do what the Bible suggests and focus on things that are true and noble. I choose to worship God no matter what. I choose to worship Him in spite of bad news, political unrest, or the latest world problem.

Today I challenge you to choose worship over all your life situations. Choose to not ask God for anything in prayer, just spend time worshipping Him.

The word ?hope? is mentioned 15 times in the book of Job. In Job 4:6, Eliphaz (one of Job?s friends) asks Job, ?Is not your reverence, your confidence? And the integrity of your ways your hope??

Is your hope tied to your ways?

Proverbs 14:12 says that there is a way that seems right to a man but its end is the way of death. God’s longest recorded speech in the bible makes up the last four chapters of Job (Job 38 – 42). I encourage you to read this passage every night this week and position God above your problems, your life, and your circumstances.

Hope is found when we look up, not around!

Worship Song for the day:

My prayer:

Lord help me to see You! Help me to believe Your Word. You say that if we meditate on what is pure, noble and praiseworthy, that the God of peace will be with us. I choose You. I choose to look at the God of peace, not the god of my problems. I lift my eyes to focus on You.
