Are you too tired to feel hopeful?
How much of your outlook or attitude about life is tied to your energy level? Do you have a more positive outlook when you are rested? Are you too tired to feel hopeful? Do you want to cry at the beginning of every day?
I know I am supposed to focus my eyes on Jesus Christ as my hope but I seem to have more of an ?I don?t care? attitude when I do not have the energy to handle things. Often I feel overwhelmed by the magnitude of change that is needed and get exhausted by just the thought of it. Does this sound familiar?
When I feel overwhelmed, I turn to Psalm 61:1-2. ?Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer.
“From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed, Lead me to the rock that is higher than I?.
When I reflect on this I just take a deep breath and look up. The Holy Spirit reminds me that I am not the source of hope, love, life, and joy but He is. When I look up, I stop looking around at my circumstances.
When I look up it gives me a new perspective and reminds me that the Creator of the Universe has me in the palm of His hand. Psalm 138:7 says that even though we walk in the midst of trouble, He will revive us!
Today, remember to look up. Our hope is the Unchangeable One (Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8), Our hope is the author and finisher of faith (Hebrews 12:2), our Hope is the Creator of the Universe. Look Up to The One that can sustain you. Please do not let your outlook become your truth. The Truth is Jesus Christ.
Lord help me to take my eyes off of me and put them on You. Thank you that you hear my prayer. Lord, I want to see you today and KNOW that it is You. Please refresh and revive me by Your Spirit. When I lay down tonight let my sleep be sweet.
“Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed, Lead me to the rock that is higher than I”.
