Halfway Check-up

Today is the halfway point of our 40-Day Journey to Find Hope. I want to use today to reflect. Let’s look at where you started and where you are now. I did this exercise with you and you can see my answers below.

How are you doing?

What changes have you noticed?

What has surprised you over the past 20 days?

Has life gotten more intense?

What has the Holy Spirit shown you?

What scriptures are you holding on to right now?

My Answers

How are you doing?

Overall, I am doing well. Honestly writing this study daily has been difficult however it is becoming easier the longer I do it. The beginning of the 40-Day Journey was rough. There were many days that I just wanted to quit but quitting was not a viable option. Not because I had committed to writing this but because what was behind me was not good. I had to go forward. At the end of the day, I believe that the Word of God is true and that requires trusting God.

What changes have you noticed?

I have noticed that I am much more focused and positive these days. I accomplish much more during the day and don?t feel as if I am spinning my wheels as much. My mind is clearer and not so crowded with what-if scenarios.

What has surprised you over the past 20 days?

I was surprised at how much I valued other people?s opinions. I was truly letting the ?what are they going to think’ control me.

Has life gotten more intense?

Initially, life got more intense but as we?ve progressed life seems to have slowed down. I believe this is because my focus has been on Him and His priorities.

What has the Holy Spirit shown you?

Wow! The Holy Spirit really showed me that I have idolized people and their opinions. This made such an impact on me, I am writing about it in the next few months.

What scriptures are you holding on to right now?

I am meditating on 2 scriptures today.

2 Timothy 1:12

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

Romans 15:13

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
