Complete Surrender to God
Do you worship the Lord? Do you worship Him on Sundays only or throughout the week? Do you praise Him in the pain or just the blessings?
Merriam-Webster defines worship as extravagant respect or admiration for or devotion to an object of esteem. For the past 5 years or so, my husband and I have relied on worship, we had no other options. There is something about trials and tribulations that bring out true worship.
In Revelation 4 (one of my favorite chapters in the Bible), the setting is the throne room of God. The Throne of God is surrounded by other thrones, elders, the sounds of lightning and thunderings. Around the Throne are four living creatures saying night and day: ?Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!?
The reason I like this chapter so much is that it simplifies worship. Not a lot of words are necessary to worship and they do not even have to rhyme. In Heaven’s Throne Room, the worshippers say: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” over and over and over and over… forever.
When Paul and Silas were in prison after receiving a beating with rods and placed in stocks, they chose to pray and sing to God (Acts 16:16-40). As a result, the prison walls began to shake and the prisoner’s chains fell off. You can worship God no matter your situation. Eloquent speech is not a requirement for worship. Choose to honor and esteem God in spite of your circumstances, place Him above your situation.

Do you need prison walls to shake and chains to fall off? Do you have a hopeless situation that only intervention from our Almighty God can solve? There is hope for you! God is not a respecter of people and what He did for Paul, He can do for you (Romans 2:11, Acts 10:34)
Thank you for all that You are doing. Help me to praise and worship You today in spite of my circumstances. I believe that You will shake the prison wall and break off the chains for me just like you did for Paul & Silas. Today I choose to put you above me. I choose to believe You and stand on Your Word.
For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
