Today I received some bad news and I had to do exactly what I wrote about yesterday. I had to shift my focus by changing the dark outlook to a bright up-look. It was not easy, I had to fight the urge to believe the negative report and give up hope. I ran to the Throne Room as fast as I could. I ran before the seeds of doubt and discouragement could sprout. I bowed my knees before the Lord in praise and worship. By going low, I chose to lift His name high.
What do you do when you receive bad news or experience a bad outcome? Do you run to the Throne Room??
In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat faced a ‘great multitude’ coming against him. He immediately fasted and went before the Lord to seek direction. The Lord told Jehoshaphat, “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but Mine.”
Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord, worshiping the Lord. Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high. As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against their enemy.?
Do you want the Lord to set ambushes for you against your enemies of fear, doubt, unforgiveness, addiction, death, disease or bad news? Bow your head to the ground and worship the Lord. Place the Lord of Glory above you, let Him fight Your battles.
Lord thank you for Your Word! Thank you for putting Your Word above Your name (Psalm 138:2). I choose to worship You today over my circumstances. I choose to run to Your Throne Room.
