Where is your focus?

Titus 2:11-13 says that we should be looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20 says that we are to eagerly await for our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Today I encourage you to focus on Jesus and His glorious appearing. How do your problems change when you focus on Jesus? If your outlook is dark, focus on your up-look which is bright. Choose to believe the Word of God, not your circumstances.

I challenge you to stop social media and news for one week. Take this time to focus on Jesus. Worship Him. Change your schedule to allow for time to meditate on scripture, start with Hebrews 3 & 4. Give your mind and body a rest from striving.

Write down 3 – 5 areas or problems in your life and ask the Holy Spirit to help you focus on Jesus instead. It is a relief to realize that life is not about us or our solutions, it is about Him.

Choose to look up and not out, keep your eyes on the prize of Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:14).

My Prayer:

Lord, thank you for eyes to see and ears to hear. Thank you for making a way when there seems to be no way. Today I choose to let go of ___________ and look to You instead. Teach me to rest in You and believe that You have a good future and hope for me. Surprise me today and please let me know it is You. I want to see You today in a new way. Thank you for hope!

Scripture:

Philippians 3:12-14

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
