Your Journey to Find Hope

Helping You Find Hope and Encouragement For Your Life

Day 10: Journey to Find Hope

40-Day Journey to Find Hope, Hope During A Crisis

Change

Change.

Do you like it?

I suppose if you are like me, you like change that you control but change that is forced on you is a different story.

Voluntary change can bring hope because you are believing that whatever you are changing will be better than what you have currently. Change that happens to us can easily lead to hopelessness and despair especially if we do not like our options. If we are in control of the change we like it and if we are not in control, we do not.

The Word says that God does not change even though our circumstances do. (Numbers 23:19, Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8 and James 1:17). That is great news for us! We are able to place our hope in the Unchanging One and the One that has overcome the world (John 16:33).

We like to think we are in control but in a split second life can change. We can lose a loved one, lose a job, lose a relationship or receive a bad diagnosis. If our hope is in our circumstances, our outlook changes depending on the news we receive.

Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Today I want you to meditate on Jeremiah 29:11 and really ask yourself where your hope lies? What would you do if you suddenly lost everything?

My Prayer:

Lord thank you that You are the God of hope. Thank you for filling me with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. (Romans 15:13). Show me any barriers to believing Your Word completely. Help me to renew my mind so that I see things as you see them. Thank you for never changing.

Scripture:

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
